Year Two complete ... roll on Year Three

The first uni year has absolutely flown by! But my second, wowsers! Where did it go?

I've had a great two years, stressful at times but my new friends have been complete rocks and we've all supported each other. I've made some new friends for life. I'm so pleased to have done this course. I was initially apprehensive leaving a full time job that I loved but Nursing is just brilliant!

There have been up and downs but getting the results that I'd passed everything was amazing! It's worth all the hard work! My placements, as I said before, have been great.
I've been on a busy surgical ward, experiencing all aspects of care from admissions to being in theatre to recovery and discharge. It was an awesome learning curve. I've been to a walk in centre, I saw sooooooo much from basic health care to life threatening emergencies. I've been on an Oncology Ward and Endoscopy outpatients too as well as many other days in other units, or visiting specialist Nurses.

The teams I've worked with have been excellent, we are lucky to have such a fabulous NHS.

I've kept up my Disney love and bought plenty of stationery... a must for students ;)

I started writing this a year ago... I just hope I have some followers still otherwise me blabbering on is pointless! Hahaha

Uni life!

Being a student nurse is a mix up of both fun and a challenge! Uni days are much more self taught than I ever expected, with pre reading, then a lecture, followed by a seminar and work at home. The assignments are hard going but then you wouldn't expect a nursing degree to be easy! 

My current assignment is about the free radical theory of ageing and how it links to the digestive and respiratory systems, finding articles is much tougher than you might think! 

I'm also revising A&P for an exam we take in Oxford, prior to that I have a practical exam on psychological status and observations.

I can't believe how fast time has flown from beginning this course! The two placements I have had so far have been fabulous! I have met both amazing patients and staff, the experiences I am having are life changing, I'm like a sponge....absorbing lots of information!

Student Nurse life! Week one!

Last Monday saw the first day of a new life, as I mentioned previously I've always wanted to be a Nurse. I left school and completed a Health & Social Care qualification, I was going to be a nurse at a local hospital but the most important woman in my life suddenly got ill. My Mam. From Cancer diagnosis to death was under 12 weeks! My life was turned upside down! I can look back now and think why didn't I carry on Nursing....?! I should of done this, that or the other but escaping seemed right at the time! I moved to the opposite end of the country!

I then had a poorly baby girl...

....followed by an epileptic son! My priority has always been them two!

 My Nursing career was put on hold for a while but here I am! Sooooo excited!

This week I have sat on a tiny desk listening to lecturers telling us what to expect for the next three years! I cannot wait....

The uni campus is small but friendly, I've met some great people already! Hopefully my life experience will come in very handy!

We had to get measured for our new uniforms, I got pricked several times by my Nurse friend, to test my jabs had worked!

I'll keep you informed about my student nurse life!

So far...it's fabulous!

WOYWW

This layout has been on my desk for ages.... well just under a week!

Spurring me on to finish it.... I got to work, I love scrapping our wedding, it truly was the best day ever! Every time I scrap it brings back fabulous memories!

Hooray! I love how it turned out! I while ago I decided to have a 'theme' throughout the album, so every layout will either have a date stamp on it or some gold on it..... back to this layout...

I love roller date stamps, I've collected them for a while... but as I haven't scrapped or done a Project Life spread for nearly a year, I stopped my subscription to Studio Calico and haven't bought ANY products....I saw this humongous stamp and could not resist!

Isn't she a beast!?!?  *special thanks to Jo to helped me get it* Amazing! I'm in love.... this is the first layout I've made using this mahoosive stamp! It started off as a 'use this stamp practice' and ended up being this WOYWW layout!

Scrappy friends.....are ace!

Over the past few years my scrapbook journey has been amazing, I've learned many techniques, shared them on my blog and all over the world. Through social media, I have made friends with the most amazing scrapbookers and project lifers from across the globe! What is even more exciting is, I have made some truly amazing friends. Through this cool hobby I have met several scrapbookers, many times, I had the pleasure of having some of these awesome girls be a part of our wedding!

 

The best thing about 'scrappers' is we ARE NOT camera shy! Hahaha! Jo, Nancy & Jackie were part of our amazing day and we were blessed they had travelled so far! 

 

 Today I want to share some of their awesome layouts! Wowsers! I feel famous!  Here's a look at one of Nancy's ace Mrs & Mrs layout process videos. Now we are practically related! Haha! Everyone looked beautiful in their dresses! I had a few emotional tears!

 

Another beautiful scrapper, Sheena blogged about us too! It seems very strange, yet brilliant being part of someone elses project life.

Sheena couldn't be there in person but she was there in spirit! Her gift was just beautiful! Thanks sweetie xx We will treasure it forever!  Another ace layout by Nancy includes one of her famous selfies!

The Prom album!

I've been making LO's for Lolly's Prom album for a while now, Leslie from the Memory Nest made a cool sketch and I made this...

I love this paper from Studio Calico but I'm a nightmare for keeping papers I like, then never using them, so I'm pleased I used it! lol

Goodbye... then Hello!!!

Hello everyone! I decided I didn't have enough time to blog and deleted my blog.... after a few weeks of not blogging I realise how much I miss it! I've been so busy... I have so much to share with you! 

 I went to visit Harry Potter Studios ... it was FANTASTIC!

 I've wanted to go for ages ...

 We tried Butter Beer, we all loved it!

I've got so much to share but have decided to blog slightly differently, I hope to carry on with 10 things on the tenth, I hope to do a weekly diary, inspired by my friend Jo, I want to share with you my weight loss journey as I hope to lose more weight. I have lots of scrap layouts and Project Life layouts to share too! Over the past couple of months alot of little changes have happened in my life  and can't wait to share my excitement!
