The Wedding Quirkiness!

A lot of thought and planning went into the quirky parts of our Wedding, we tried to spend money wisely on the 'keepsakes', we didn't want to over spend on things we would never use again, however were more than prepared to spend on AMAZING bits and bobs!
My favourite piece was my amazingly brilliant head piece made my friend Zoe, I have known her for many years now and she was only one person I would have asked to be part of our special day, I have been to many classes at Love from Hetty & Dave but would never of attempted to make my own fascinator, it had to be unique & Zoe would be perfect! It had to include two hearts that would be 'together forever', include flowers and have a beachy vibe as we both love the beach so much, it had to include some anchors, an ode to Tracy's tattoo and also the fact we are both unsinkable. We also chose rock, a part of our staple beach diet! Haha!
Isn't it amazing!???! 'Love Rocks!'
Callum had to have something special, a keepsake too! After much discussion, we decided we HAD to include a moustache.... what better way than with a bow tie! Zoe's talented hands made that too!
It looks much more shiny in real life than this photo shows, shiny red leather to suit the colour theme! Cal wanted to go for Top Dog as opposed to Best Man, Lolly was Top Cat! We are all animal lovers, so this was just perfect! Zoe and her husband spend hours thinking of names to go in Cal's moustache! Haha! She's a gem! We also got vintage themed tattoos for our Very Important Wedding guests, including a pin up girl on a certain young mans arm.......

Note: Cal's tattoo, bottom left
...a very pretty young lady was also 'inked' for the special day too..... did you notice?
Lolly had a Unicorn....no surprises there?!?!
Following on with the colour theme, we looked at flowers hoping for mainly red and white. What would look cool? Romantic? What would still be alive after our mini moon so we could enjoy them? We went to a many wedding fayre's, on one fabulous day we stumbled upon a very talented lady called Helen, she had the most amazing flowers, that we could keep FOREVER! We met many times and ended up with 'the same but different' bouquet, the bespoke design was perfect!
Everything was opposite
Bright felt and cute buttons with sweet little hearts and matching ribbons, hand made was definitely best! We loved them so much, our guests loved them too!
They were beautiful
Lolly's wedding quirkiness favourite was her shoes! They were ADORABLE if only I was the same size..... I could steal them! Haha! Also chosen.....from a choice of millions.... Miss L Fire's LOVE BIRDS won! ......see what we did there? Love birds! Awwwww!
The next and possibly cutest keepsake has to be our adorable cake toppers, we found the most amazing store on Etsy and sent her photographs of us, in a flash we had mini me's! They are just teeny tiny versions of us!
Love, love, love
One of the final quirky bits that I loved, were the pencils for our guests, we do still have some 'spares' if you didn't get one, please message me....
thanks for the awesome pictures .....our artistic friends are just ace....
So sweet!
The many pictures and wishes we received will be part of our many wedding albums! We currently have a 12x12 scrapbook album, two photograph albums, a smash book for the planning and two WRMK mini albums on the go! Hahaha!
I hope you've enjoyed the 'quirky bits' post! I'll be back soon with some scrapbooking xo

P.S. I will also soon have a scrapbookers guide to going to uni, by going to uni I mean what I've purchased in preparation! xo

Scrappy friends.....are ace!

Over the past few years my scrapbook journey has been amazing, I've learned many techniques, shared them on my blog and all over the world. Through social media, I have made friends with the most amazing scrapbookers and project lifers from across the globe! What is even more exciting is, I have made some truly amazing friends. Through this cool hobby I have met several scrapbookers, many times, I had the pleasure of having some of these awesome girls be a part of our wedding!

The best thing about 'scrappers' is we ARE NOT camera shy! Hahaha! Jo, Nancy & Jackie were part of our amazing day and we were blessed they had travelled so far!

Today I want to share some of their awesome layouts! Wowsers! I feel famous!  Here's a look at one of Nancy's ace Mrs & Mrs layout process videos. Now we are practically related! Haha! Everyone looked beautiful in their dresses! I had a few emotional tears!

Another beautiful scrapper, Sheena blogged about us too! It seems very strange, yet brilliant being part of someone elses project life.
Sheena couldn't be there in person but she was there in spirit! Her gift was just beautiful! Thanks sweetie xx We will treasure it forever!  Another ace layout by Nancy includes one of her famous selfies!
I love the bright colours in this layout by Nancy, she really is the 'selfie queen'! #loveit

Jo talks about us here, I love it that she also scrapped the same photograph! Ace layouts! So colourful and bright!
I wonder if Jackie will scrap the same one? Hmmm! Could this be our challenge? I'll scrap it too?

Thanks for stopping by and checking out some of my scrappy friends... I secretly hope that they made two of the same and send me a layout! haha!
I'll be back soon with more wedding quirkiness xo
P.S. Here's a look at a recent layout I made ....
Special thanks to Nancy who sent me some fabulous cut outs! I don't have the machine... {Don't forget I'm a student nowadays!} lol xo

Getting married.... the secret parts!

After starting work at the Hospital, a harsh reality of what is REALLY IMPORTANT struck me! My years of worrying about what other people thought were over! You only get one shot at life and since my Mam passed away so very young, I am very surprised it has taken me so long to realise!

One shot to be happy! One shot to be who you want to be, one shot at trying your best! I feel I have always tried my best at whatever I've set my mind to but sometimes you're best isn't good enough for some people, which is a real shame! One thing I was sure of, was the love felt within our four walls, we love each other unconditionally and will always be there for each other.

The wedding plans began, we firstly looked at themes.... as we are both curvy girls we thought 50's dresses would be perfect and they really were!
Pout face!
We tried on lots and lots of dresses, varying colours, styles, matching, not matching, flowery, plain, dotty.... we visited London, Brighton, Frome... many awesome places! Our two favourite shops were Deadly Is The Female & Vivien of Holloway, we have met some amazing people on this journey, people who will be friends forever! Our Chief Bridesmaid loved dress shopping too!
We got a lil bit crafty, ordered some Moo cards and made our own wedding Save the Dates, from an idea on Pinterest! We had secret Pinterest boards for our bridal party and photography ideas, I've gotta say....that was the worst thing....not taking pics! Hahaha!

We thought it would be a great idea to learn a 'secret dance', none of us are great dancers and it would be great to see everyones faces, we really aren't into PDA and the thought of everyone staring at us for a 'smooch'! Bleurgh! hahaha! We're all about the fun factor! We started going to Lindy Hop lessons, it was great fun, one of our bridesmaids came too, as did one of my college friends, we made some great friends and started to visit some fabulous places. We danced at Newbury Ballrooms, whilst watching the fabulous Jive Aces! Our World had turned upside down.....and very vintage!
Dancing to Rockin Robin!
We kept everything low key & quiet, wanting to surprise our guests, we hired the most amazing singers, The Decibelles were amazing! We hired a 50's Ice Cream van, got a candy cart & photobooth and were all stylied by the most amazing vintage stylist. It was the BEST DAY EVER! Friends and family travelled from up & down, and across the country it was truly memorable!
Here are a few piccies!
Our awesome Bridal Party!
Our Chief Bridesmaid & Best Man aka Top Dog
It was laugh after laugh!
Even cutting the cake was a laugh!
The photo booth was a massive hit!
We felt loved all day! It was amazing!
The heels came off! hahaha!
I hope you've enjoyed some of our 'secret parts' the guests seemed to love it as much as we did! I will scrap this for many more months to come!
Thanks for stopping by xo

PS Wedding Layouts soon......but first....scrappy friends!

Week 25

This week .... Monday to Thursday... kinda dragged! School has been full of assessments and I was observed, doing what I do. I've walked home in the sunshine lots this week, which was lovely.
We discovered that Woody LOVES Strawberries, who can blame him? I love em too! The weather has been lovely so they've had loads of fun running around their runs!
Lolly's Prom preparation came to an end this week as the big day arrived! The week has been full with facials and nails as well as months of organisation, it was finally time for everything to come together...
 On Friday, I came home from School to find Vicky busy doing Lolly's hair and make-up, before I knew it the victory rolls were in, the make up was beautiful and the dress was on ....followed by her wedge Converse boots {she has pretty prom shoes but I definitely think she made the right choice...}
Her BFF J came over and they had a glass of bubbly to celebrate their special day... I had a friend make their glasses, a keepsake for ever!
As the Vintage Fire Truck turned up, the overwhelming tears rolled down my face I was a very very proud Mammy! We had some family pics and headed to Hotel for the Prom!
We drove ahead to see the girls arrive, it was a brilliant atmosphere, we took loads and loads of photographs, there were lots of group shots with friends who are all going their separate ways in September.... The girls looked stunning!
On Saturday, once Lolly finished work, we got her dressed up again & drove to the local park to take more pics with her bestie! We thought we'd make the most of the glorious sunshine!
 We had a great laugh...
Once we got back home the girls decided to swap dresses... they loved it! It was great fun!
Sunday was chillaxing with a stop off to 'He says She waffles!'... nomnomnom! Followed by lunch with friends then a relaxing end of the day starting with a few Prom Scrapbook layouts!
My baby girl is all grown up! Times flown by.....  I hope you've had a brilliant week.
I'll be back soon with more layouts and a Project Life round up.
Catch up soon xo
